Got this from my Ed – Thank you Ed!

Uber Burgers are what they sound like – a big tasty meatloaf on a bun! (The good kind of meat loaf with well season real meat – not the elementary lunch line meat loaf…).  Uber Burgers are thick – yummy thick, so they take a while to cook.  Make sure to use your thermometer.

GG’s Rating:  Burp

Pairs Well With: Grilled Corn

What You Need:

  • 1 lb Lean Ground Beef
  • 1 Egg
  • Seasoned Bread Crumbs
  • Black Pepper
  • Salt
  • Cayenne Peeper
  • Garlic Powder
  • Worcestershire Sauce
  • Hot Sauce (Or Mild Sauce – my hon likes the heat!)
  • Large Sesame Seed Hamburger Buns (not pictured)
  • Several Slices Of Cheese – Your Choice – I like baby swiss!

This is Uber Burgers – Modified.  I took Ed’s recipe and modified it for my taste, you do the same for yours.  I’ve left out Parsley, Cajun Seasoning and even more hot sauce.  Why leave out the parsley?  I always seem to be out!

It’s Mixing Time!

Uber Burgers are messy to make but you really need to get your hands in there to mix up the meat.

First, break up the meat into a bowl and add the egg, bread crumbs, pepper, salt, cayenne peeper, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce.

There is not a set amount to add – you do it by feel.  Go easy on the hot sauce the first time you try until you know what you’re doing.

Here’s how the meat mixture should look

The bread crumbs bring it all together, make the meat mixture less soupy so they hold up better. Add some bread crumbs after adding the egg then more after you add the rest of the ingredients if you need them.

Making Patties

Form 3 to 4 thick hamburger patties.

I like to leave a small indention in the top, I often pour a little more Worcestershire sauce in the indention while it’s grilling.

Grilling Time!

These babies take a while to grill.  You want to grill on low to medium heat sot they cook all the way through without burning.

When use a thermometer to check them out.  We are looking for 150 degrees at least.

When close to done, butter up the hamburger buns and place on the grill to toast.  If you are making cheese ubers, add your cheese to get it nice and melty!

Eaten Time!

And there you go – you got ubers!
